That’s how 3D computer graphics with no plans are done. Jetcommunication explains it to you through images
These images come from a development of a 3D computer graphics work about the remodelling of the SQY shopping centre of Paris, that have been entrusted to Jetcommunication.
The first thing we use to start to work is a project plan in which the client indicates the three points of view from which he wants the object to be seen. i.e. the place where the cameras must be placed when it comes the time to recreate it.
In this specific case, Jetcommunication had very little information: Just volumetry with hardly any details was enough to start rendering. In other words, there wasn’t a plan yet and manifested the whole interior design of the Mall in images in a hyper-realistic way, in a record time of only two weeks and without needing a project technically defined by an architect. This way, the advertising department already had a mature product.
From here on, we are able to do the 3D modelling, that is, the structure is “raised”. This is a crucial moment, because the basis of any 3D computer graphics development is to have the approval of the modelling, because it is the key piece, the thing that takes longer to make and from it everything else will be developed. At this very moment, the points of view from which the project will be seen are defined with precision: From the left to the right, from up to down, high and low-angle shot, etc.
Jetcommunication maintain on-going contact with the client at all time, in order to make corrections and modifications to achieve the highest possible quality.
Then, we start filling those defined volumes (process for which an outline specification is established by the client, even if after that they are modified). First of all, it is essential to realize the ceilings, soils and pillars. From here on, (as you can see in the image gallery) we decorate it: shop windows, colours, type of soil, contents, vegetation, lighting …
This section of the 3D computer graphics production is the fastest one: the modifications may be available in less than 24 hours and the client is able to decide the precise final touch of his product on the go.
Finally, we introduce the human elements. Although Jetcomunication uses hyper-realistic models, in this example, the client opted to more conceptual images where the persons are almost blurry. With this effect we manage to shift to the background and see the building as the most important thing.
